March 2013 Block of the Month

The instructions for the Garden Fence block are here. It is a very easy block, no need to match any points! Only one caveat: the fabric cutting instructions do not include the white "sashing," although she mentions it at the end and the sashing is shown in the finished block picture. My example includes the sashing as well (a 1 1/2 white strip all around). The colors are gray and yellow over white. You can elect to place the yellow or the gray at the center of the block, or, make one of each. The finished quilt example shows how varying the center colors makes it more interesting. Finally, the finished size of this block is 12 inches AFTER you add the sashing. Alejandrina
