Hi, my name is Julia Hunt and I am a fourth generation quilter. Quilts have been treasured and loved in my home all my life. I still have a quilt made for me by my great grandmother that was given to me when I was a child, it is the "spider-web " design. Although I've been garment sewing for over 30 years I didn't begin quilting until about 8 or 9 years ago, My first quilt was hand appliquéd and hand quilted, before I discovered "modern" fabrics and machine quilting!

Somehow, I found Rene' online and I've been a member of the OMQG since the very first meeting when the group was established. The guild has provided great inspiration and education for me. My favorite benefit (besides meeting all the other amazing quilters) is the access to nationally known teachers that our guild offers. I have appreciated and learned so much from our workshops over the past years.

It's difficult to choose a favorite quilt I've made, but a special one I did for my oldest daughter is "girl loves coffee", it incorporated hand embroidery, machine appliqué and machine quilting.

I am currently working on 6 different quilts, but the one I'm most excited about is constructed from all Liberty of London prints, I've been in love with Liberty fabric for over 30 years and have been gradually building my Liberty stash for this project. I hope to finish this queen size beauty this year.

My husband and I reside in Oviedo and we have 2 daughters who both live in Kentucky with their families, including our 4 beautiful grandchildren (#5 is on the way!) I also enjoy garment sewing for the children.

For the last 12 years I have been working at home with my own sewing business. I have a dedicated space with an industrial sewing machine. I work with talented interior designers in the Orlando area, fabricating custom pillows, bedding and cushions for model homes and residential clients. I sew for work, then I sew for fun, crazy, but I really do love all aspects of creating with fabric!
